Everyone has their favorite Super Bowl snack (I'm looking at you, seven-layer dip), but it turns out that some go-to foods are more regional than others. As they've done for the past few years, General Mills recently crunched the data and put together this list of the top Super Bowl recipe searched for in every state. The data was compiled by searches on food and recipe websites associated with the brand.

But of course we couldn't help note that the recipes are not always that, well, healthy. So here's our version of every dish, from your state and the 49 others, so you can focus on enjoying the game without worrying about what you—or your family—are eating.

Alabama—Mississippi Roast

The traditional sauce (Ranch dressing mix, au jus seasoning, butter, and peppers) isn’t exactly light. We take the most important part of the meal—the chuck roast—and toss it in the crock pot with flavor that you’ll still love.

Alaska—Potato Salad

We swap out those heavy, creamy dressings for a mixture of real mayonnaise and Greek yogurt. Plus, we toss in peppers and hard boiled eggs to bulk up every bite.

Arizona, New Hampshire, New Jersey, and Rhode Island—Chili

Search for a classic chili and you’ll get thousands of variations. The base is simple—creamy beans and hearty meat. Our version blends beef chuck, black beans, and cinnamon sticks as the secret ingredient you didn’t know you needed.

Arkansas—Queso Cheese Dip

Who says queso can’t make it to your low-calorie party? This version blends goat cheese, sour cream, and cannellini beans for extra creaminess without the extra calories.

California and Connecticut—Chicken Wings/ Hot Wings

Is it really game day without chicken wings? Probably. But if chicken wings make it to your spread, try this perfect combination of honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sambal for the perfect sticky, flavorful sauce.

Colorado—Taco Pie, New Mexico—Seven Layer Dip, Tennessee—Skillet Dips

Obviously these three dishes are not the same, but they all combine the need for biting into something cheesy, beany, and vaguely reminiscent of a deconstructed burrito. This nacho skillet brings together all of those elements and more.

Also known as chess cake, this famous dessert is classically made with butter, sugar, and eggs. We kick up the decadence in our version but slash calories by swapping in tahini in the filling. Your secret is safe with us.

Florida, Nevada, North Carolina, and Texas—Sausage Cheese Balls

Combine reduced-fat pork sausage and cheddar cheese for a healthier twist, then add quinoa as your secret ingredients for the perfect football appetizer.

Georgia, West Virginia, and Wyoming—Sliders

In only 20-minutes you’ll have a cheesy, meaty slider everyone at the party will love. We use 93 percent lean ground sirloin and slather on a homemade mayo-ketchup sauce you’ll want to eat with everything.

Hawaii—Crescent Sloppy Joes

Toss the crescent rolls for an old school sloppy Joe that’s even more flavorful. We mix ketchup, hoisin sauce, and sriracha for a perfect, ooey sauce with just the right amount of kick.

Indiana—Root Beer Chicken

This method of cooking is known for keeping the bird extra moist and flavorful, so we’re definitely in. Use a can of whatever beer or soft drink you’d like for a main meat that’s only 248 calories per serving.

Iowa—Pigs in a Blanket

Sure, you can pop frozen pigs in a blanket in the toaster oven for an easy app, but we use store-bought staples for a healthier, just as easy fix. Supermarket pizza dough, turkey hot dogs, and mozzarella come together for a super simple bite.

Kansas—Dill Pickle Soup

Often made with butter, cream, and dill pickles, this soup isn’t exactly our game day pick. But we have a lighter take on the eastern European recipe. Blend bread for thickness with cucumbers, green tomatoes, dill, and chives. Plus, creme fresh adds a subtle creaminess to te bowl.

Kentucky, Massachusetts, Montana, Nebraska, and New York—Buffalo Chicken Wings/Casserole/Dip

Every buffalo chicken recipe begins with the perfect buffalo sauce. This recipe blends together ketchup, hot sauce, brown sugar, and butter for the perfect sweet and spicy bite.

Louisiana—Crab au Gratin

You can’t go wrong with a cheesy bite of crab meat. We call for whipped cream cheese in this version to keep things light and creamy, plus it’s stuffed into charred bell peppers for a beautiful presentation.

Maine—Clam Dip

Sit back, grab a drink, and dig into a creamy bowl of Gram’s clam dip. In just a few minutes, chopped clams, Greek yogurt, and cream cheese are combined to make the perfect veggie-ready dip.

Maryland—Pizza Sticks

Ok, so these aren’t Totino’s pizza rolls. But pizza is pizza, right? We snag premade dough, frozen corn, and canned sauce for convenience and fresh mozzarella for all the flavor. Simply slice the pizza into sticks for easy sharing.

Michigan and Pennsylvania—Potato Soup

Potato soup is a heavy, decadent bowl of creamy goodness. We keep the bacon, cheese, and potatoes, but swap in light sour cream to bring a bowl down to just 290 calories per serving. You’re welcome.

Minnesota—Tater Tot Casserole/ Hot Dish

The base to this recipe is simple. Layer in meat, starch, vegetable, and canned soup, and then bake away. We do just that with mashed potatoes, cheddar cheese, chicken breast, broccoli, and chicken stock—it’s just way healthier.

Mississippi—Beef Stew

This is your basic, crock pot stew recipe. We toss in a little barley to add some extra heft and filling whole-grains to the bowl.


Ground sirloin is grilled into a super classic, American patty. Top it will lettuce, tomato, and onion slathered with our spicy, mustard sauce.

Ohio—White Chicken Chili

White beans and chicken are cooked down in this old school dish, but we call it green chicken chili because of the extra green chili bite.

Generally a fun combination of tomato salsa and beans, cowboy or Texas caviar is an old school dip that pairs perfectly with salty tortilla chips. This recipe incorporates pinto beans, bells peppers, tomatoes, onions, and spices for a heat-filled, tasty scoop.

South Dakota—Hummus

Everyone loves a perfect bowl of pita-ready hummus. This version is topped with spiced ground beef, but you can mix up the toppings to fit your tastes and game day mood.

Utah—Pulled Pork

This sweet and smoky pulled pork recipe is everything your super bowl party needs. Swap in any flavor of preserves you like. Though the recipe calls for peach, apricot works well in its place.

Spread the lemony Dijon mayo over whole wheat flatbread for a delicious bite. Roll in roasted turkey, Swiss cheese, and spinach for something even better.
